From Our Grandmother’s Garden to Yours

Desi Point started with one goal: keep the old way of making tools alive. Every khurpi, hoe and sickle we sell is made by hand by skilled village blacksmiths, the same way it’s been done for generations. Not stamped out in a factory.

Made in Bharat, for India: village blacksmiths forging Desi Point tools by hand

Our story

We’re two brothers. Growing up, we watched our mother and grandmother head out to the garden every morning, khurpi in hand, long before we understood why they bothered. It was just what they did. Coffee first, then the plants. Rain or heat didn’t matter.

We only noticed what we’d grown up with after we left home. Every city apartment after that felt like something was missing: the smell of fresh soil, a grandmother checking a leaf with her hands, a tool worn smooth from years of use. And the blacksmiths who made those tools, working the same way for generations, were slowly losing business to cheap factory imports.

So we started Desi Point, to show their craft to a country that had forgotten it still existed.

That’s what Desi Point is. A way to keep a blacksmith earning a living. A way to get your hands back in real soil. A small piece of a grandmother’s garden, alive in your home too, one handmade tool at a time.

What we stand for

Sustainable by design

Metal and wood built to be reused for years, not plastic built to be replaced every season.

A livelihood for the makers

Every order is income for a village blacksmith and their family, not a factory line.

A little nostalgia

The same tools our grandmothers used, so that feeling doesn’t have to skip a generation.

Built to actually last

We mix old-school skill with a few modern touches to build tools that hold up to real use: a solid metal blade, a coating that fights off rust, and a wooden handle that’s comfortable to hold. Every single tool.

Vocal for local

When you choose Desi Point, you’re supporting the artisans behind every tool directly: their skills, their livelihoods, and a craft that could disappear under cheap, mass-produced imports.

Where we’re headed

We started with hand tools and planters. Fertilisers, seeds, and more garden products are next, all held to the same standard of honesty and craft.
